Bringing Food Into Thailand.

Featured Replies

I've mentioned elsewhere on here, my interest in buying an oven in Thailand, but it occurs to me that I might also decide to bring some home-made fruit cakes into Thailand. What I cannot seem to find is any reference on Thai Customs websites any information about produce like this being restricted or illegal. Can anyone here explain if this is indeed Ok or not?

yes, you can bring with you home made fruit cakes - but you have only 20kg luggage allowance for all your othe belongings as well.

you just buy flower, oil, crem, butter, suggar and any fruits you wish to put inside and make the cake yourself or ask a female neighbour to do it for you.

btw you don't need owen for your ready to eat cakes from abroad

I buy great fruit cakes, similar to Dundee or Christmas cakes, from a bakery in Rayong, nearly as good as my own home-made ones. If you have an oven you can buy all the ingredients to make your own, may need to bring suitable cake tins from back home though.
