October 23, 200421 yr Depends what you want the map for. I'm in BKK as a tourist and am finding the Bangkok Day and Night Groovy map very handy. But it only covers the city center so I also bought the Nelles Bangkok/Greater Bangkok.
October 24, 200421 yr The best map that I have found is available in CDROM and print from a company called Thinknet. www.thinknet.co.th The CDROM version is better then the print version. I use the Thai language version, but they list an English language version as well. If you can find an older copy '45 -'46, it will include the bus routes. For some reason they new edition does not include the bus routes . I think I bought my copy at the SE-ED bookstore at MBK. Another good map is put out by www.bangkokguide.co.th . They have both English language and Thai language maps. I like their printed version, but was rather disappointed by their CDROM. You can find their maps at SE-ED or Asia Books. The English version covers a little less area, costs a bit more and gives the BTS and Subway routes. The Thai version shows the bus routes and ferry boat routes as well - including the longtail boats that service Thonburi and Nonthaburi.
October 24, 200421 yr I really like this one as it's zoomable etc (if you've got broadband helps tho): http://members.tripod.com/~longlate/
October 25, 200421 yr Here is another good link for an interactive map of greater Bankok area: http://streetdirectory.com/bangkok/bangkok...3&level=1&star= And a collection of links with map of BKK and Thailand you will find here: http://www.geocities.com/bkkriders/map/
November 2, 200421 yr A-2-Z Bangkok Map, 1st ed. isbn 974 8352 45 5. Full English street index for 100b Great detail for finding apartments etc. http://www.bangkokguide.co.th/P_Publishing.htm They also produce an excellent bus rte map, (3rd ed) for only 50b. Also for a good, detailed, walking map of the city etc., try "Bangkok Walking Map" 40b enjoy!
December 5, 200421 yr This is by far the best map of Bangkok on the WWW the others don't come close http://bangkok.sawadee.com/map/index_flash.htm
December 6, 200421 yr i have yet to find one that is big enough , they all seem to leave out quite a lot . just concentrating on the central areas . nothing compares with the A-Z of London in scope when applied to Bangkok .
December 8, 200421 yr I once bought an A to Z style map of Bangkok. It wasn't cheap but went al the way to Nonthaburi and Rangsit in the North and all the way to Samut Prakan in the South. Wasn't cheap though at 500B and then my flatmate went and nicked it! <deleted>!
January 12, 200521 yr I really like this one as it's zoomable etc (if you've got broadband helps tho):http://members.tripod.com/~longlate/ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Didn't work for me - and I have broadband. (maybe members.tripod.com is blocked?) Here is another good link for an interactive map of greater Bankok area:http://streetdirectory.com/bangkok/bangkok...3&level=1&star= <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is the one I've used in the past, and is easily the most detailed in the outskirts. (i.e. I could actually find my Moo Baan on it.) Best online map of Thailand is here <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed - very useful, but not very detailed, although I think it has a few issues. - i.e. I'm sure Roi Et has an airport, even if Thai don't fly to it... This is by far the best map of Bangkok on the WWW the others don't come closehttp://bangkok.sawadee.com/map/index_flash.htm <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nice and easy to use - shame about the lack of information on it though - where are the expressways, the outer ring road, etc.
