Realistically speaking, do you think Trump will last till November?
People look at a candidate differently when the opposition changes. Instead of looking at 2 older men acting a bit strange in their own ways they see a pretty relateable woman compared to this old lying self aggrandising guy and his second in charge making judgements on people that he isn't in a position to make.. and it reminds them how weird those two are compared to people in their normal lives. Yes it has become a cliche catchphrase quickly but calling it a cult is over the top. -

What's the Most Surprising Thing You've Learned About Living in Thailand?
I was seen by a clinic Dr here in LOS, because of a small growth on my neck. She told me to go straight to the dermatology department of BHP. I was there within 30 minutes, seen by a consultant within another 20 minutes, biopsy taken immediately. Had the results within 3 days and the growth surgery straight away. Total cost was 52,000 Baht. You wouldn't get that service anywhere in the World, Aussie included. And if you can't afford to pay for this kind of service, you have no business living here. -

Thailand's Constitutional Court to Decide on Move Forward Party's Dissolution on August 7
On August 7, 2024, Thailand's Constitutional Court is set to give a definitive judgement on the request of the Election Commission to disband the Move Forward Party (MFP). This follows a complaint made by Thirayuth Suwankaesoorn against the MFP's campaigning to change Section 112 of the Penal Code. Previously, Pita Limjaroenrat, a parliament member and senior advisor of the MFP, asked ambassadors from 18 countries to monitor the case and its verdict. These events will take place tomorrow, August 7, 2024. Today, August 6, 2024, national Thai media discussed the issue with Wissanu Krea-ngam, an advisor to the Prime Minister. In the interview, Wissanu said it is a regular practice for diplomats to form relationships and collect information. He said their engagement does not equate to meddling in domestic matters. Wissanu has been asked to participate in talks with foreign diplomats, even after resigning from his position. He stressed that such meetings are ordinary and informal. When asked if it was the government's job to make issues clear to diplomats, Wissanu said that while it's considered a minor diplomatic duty, it is standard practice for diplomats to receive news and develop relationships in various ways. Concerning the apprehensions that disbanding the MFP might tarnish Thailand's reputation, particularly its legal system and democracy, Wissanu played down any significant effects. He stated it would only pertain to the specific situation of Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, reported The Pattaya News. Thailand unveils new visa rules, sparks mixed reactions
In all fairness, in all countries I lived I never came across such a confusing, never ending changing of rules on visa regulations. Meanwhile even the immigration officers do no longer know what to do. Some stamp 15 days, others 60 days, some allow only two entries overland per year, another guy said "lazy to count" and meant that the two-trips-overland-per-year rule is no longer as well. All this at the Friendship bridge in Nong Khai, which I (PR holder) cross almost weekly. But then it is to be said, that it is an excellent entry experience for the inexperienced traveller; the way all this visa headaches and immigration rules are changed more often that other people change socks; that's the way the whole country seems to operate. Welcome to Thailand- 1

I've fallen into Grab (food) "customer service" hell!
Please keep in mind that you are now dealing with an AI, and probably a Chinese-developed AI, same as those used by BaiDu, WeiChat, and others. These AIs make decisions based on behavior and outcome probability, and not on the behavior or issues of any particular user, such as you. This is why I am getting off/away from online ordering, wherever possible. I will buy at stores, and at restaurants, and will stop using apps to buy anything, or do anything, such as Internet Banking. Things can only continue to deteriorate....as the individual progressively loses importance and value for the companies that operate online everything. -

Soi Buakhao planned to be changed to one way
Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I read it, the map indicates there's no change. Buakhao stays 2 way. 2nd Rd one way. Just the connecting sois are affected. -

Thai Police Commission Validates Decision to Dismiss Police General Surachate Hakpar
On August 6, 2024, Thawatchai Thaikhiew, a deputy spokesperson of the Police Civil Service Commission (PCSC), shared on Facebook that the dismissal of Police General Surachate Hakparn, also known as "Big Joke," was upheld. Hakparn was earlier suspended from his duties. The validity of Hakparn's dismissal, initially approved by Police General Kittirat Phanphet, was under the commission's review. The PCSC met to consider the highly publicized case and has informed both Hakparn, who appealed against the decision, and the National Police Office, to which the appeal was made. Hakparn appealed his dismissal on April 18, 2024, arguing the decision was illegal and demanded it be revoked. The case attracted significant public and media attention, with many debating the legalities and facts of the case. After a detailed investigation, which involved listening to both sides and examining the evidence, the PCSC concluded that Hakparn's dismissal was conducted lawfully and with valid reasoning. The commission affirmed the original decision to suspend Hakparn from his duties. The PCSC rejected Hakparn's appeal and his request for provisional actions. However, Hakparn maintains the right to take his case to the Supreme Administrative Court within the next 90 days if he disagrees with the decision, reported The Pattaya News.
