Hey and sorry if this has already been asked about alot..

I was gonna extend my TouristVisa today at the immigration, 30 days, but to my surprise they were are closed today and tomorrow. Som nam naa, yes, I was stupid to not check before. My Visa expires tomorrow, which means I have to pay 500 baht for overstay if I pay on monday = 1900 + 500 = 2400.

My question is; Will it be cheaper to take the bus from Bkk to Cambodia tomorrow, than waiting 'til monday to pay extension?

I have done that before, but can't remember what it costed me. I know about the '60 days per 6 months' - rule. I got 30 of those 60 days in the beginning of november, so I'm allowed 30 more, right? I'm not sure since they change the law here every now and then.

Thanks alot in advance for any answers

Cheers

Actually it is 90 days in a six month period so you should be fine getting another visa exempt entry. Believe the cost is about 2,000 baht all inclusive by visa services and about 1,200 or so if you do yourself on the cheap.

Ah that's right. 90 days. Thanks.

So if it's about 1200 baht, the bus is a couple of hundreds while the Cambodian visa is around a thousand?

Do you pay the cambodian visa just at the border? Memory is getting worse :o

Going to Cambodia tomorrow then is obviously the better choice.

Any risks involved? Like unexpected surprises such as they require a plane ticket or something, and if I don't have it I'll get stuck in cambodia..?

Yes there is that risk as you do need a ticket to obtain visa exempt entry and many of the border posts do check for that (although some sell 200 baht bus tickets as an alternative). Also do not believe most would be able to do on the 1,200 baht, or so, if not familiar with the procedures.

Believe you would be best to visit Immigration Monday morning to try and obtain normal 30 day extension of stay.

It's funny I can't remember the procedures, i've done it a couple of times before, on my own.

But as I might need to show an airplaneticket, I do not dare going to Cambodia tomorrow! :D What if I get stuck there, with no money? :o

Thanks for the help
