Valentine's Day

Featured Replies

Valentines Day, like birthdays and Christmas seem to get more and more difficult to find something original, that measures up.

With having moved backed to Thailand a few months back, plus a lovely little extra valentine to think of in our 18 month old daughter, I'm a little out of touch on places to go/things to do, especially when trying to build the little one into plans.

Last year I got some help from the staff in the serviced apartment we were staying in, in sending flowers, dining at their nicest restaurant, and the waiters/waitresses also helped with the little one. This year that's not an option, and we don't have a maid for baby sitting either.

Any suggestions from you ladies on where to go/ what to do for a romantic evening which might include a little valentine. Or what would would you be hoping for if it was you in this situation?

Would welcome any feedback or ideas, amusing or constructive... :o e.g. any tips on getting little valentine to sleep early once we're back :D

why not have a romantic dinner at home? you can get it catered for if you like so that you dont have to do any real preparation, and you could have two masseurs come in beforehand to give you a romantic massage for two?

i would also hire a baby sitter for the evening.

then again, it shouldnt take valentines day to do all this! its just a commercial thing anyway, when the hotels and restaurants put their prices up. make every day a valentines day!

Thanks for the ideas. Yes you're right in an ideal world every day woluld be a Valentine's day. In mind it probably is. Then again it's nice to do something a little more special than usual on a chosen day.

I guess judging by the myriad of other responses, romance isn't exactly big among the ladies on Thai visa. :o

If a guy may intrude...

I would suggest going for dessert and a drink (food is very expensive and not particularly memorable, in my opinion) at Vertigo on top of the Banyan Tree Hotel. The staff is extremely accommodating for kids as well and the "top of the world" feel is unbeatable and will surely provide a memorable evening.
