Need Some Help Please

Featured Replies

I'm writing a piece on Thailand, based really on achieving some kind of excellence in your life/work, to really excel and to strive to be number one in something.

I want to head the piece with a quotation from a Buddhist teaching as I hope it will set off the piece nicely, something rather short, but catchy and to the point. I'm not a great reader of the teachings so I don't know any accurate quotes myself and wondering if any of you people out there could help me?

Thx in advance for any responses. :o

unangered by things that spark anger:

from where can there come suffering & stress?

Udana IV, 4

One is the quest for worldly gain,

and quite another is the path to Nibbana.

Clearly understanding this,

let not the monk, the disciple of the Buddha,

be carried away by worldly acclaim,

but develop detachment instead.
