February 14, 200818 yr Dear Forum We will be submiting VAF4 Settlement visa application to the BKK embassy in a couple of weeks time and I cant remember if they will accept copy documentation........ Yes I know we did this before with the fiancee visa but it was some time ago, and for the life of me I cant remember. And I am sure I have read somewhere that they insist on original documents. My problem is that I dont really want to submitt originals of my P60, Morgage statement, salary slips etc. 1) I may need them in the UK, and 2) when we applied for an extension in the UK previously they didnt return anything. Not to mention all the stories we read about stuff disappearing in the embassy. Obviously we will submit our original marriage cert ( I got 2 done by the registrar specially for the aplication), but what about the other stuff. We will go armed with one file all originals and another back up set so we have proof of what we submitted. Cheers Yorkieb
February 14, 200818 yr Information for applicants and What supporting documents should I include with my applications?: You should include original documents if possible, particularly those relating to birth, marriage, divorce and death. If you are not able to include originals of these then you should send attested copies. All original documents will be returned to you.
February 14, 200818 yr I would well imagine they will want to see originals, however bring along copies of all these documents with you. Been through the Irish Consulate in BKK a few times and usually they just reference the copies against the originals then give me the originals back and they are happy. Good Luck.
February 15, 200818 yr As far as possible submit originals or, alternatively, have made certified copies of the originals. You'll also need to submit the documents relating to your wife's JR application etc. by way of explanation of what exactly happened when she was in the UK on her fiancée visa. Scouse.
