Just over a year ago I upgraded from dial up Internet to Maxnet ADSL indy (1024/512) 590 baht a month.

Last year MaxNet automatically upgraded my ADSL to (1536/512) indy at no extra charge as a promotion, normally 790 baht per month excluding VAT.

At first the Internet speeds were exceptionally fast, then over a few months the download speeds has slowed down to which is now become an unacceptable service.

I do know people that have complained to Maxnet and have got nowhere.

My problem is that Maxnet TT&T have a monopoly on ADSL Internet and telephone lines in the area of Chiang Mai where I live, so there is no option of changing my ISP.

I am considering upgrading my MaxNet ADSL service to Indy (2048/512) at 1000 per baht or even higher to Premium or Biz, so as to get a 24 hour reasonable speed Internet

I would like to hear from users of Maxnet Indy (2048/512) at 1000 per baht per month or premium or Biz users in Chiang Mai and whether or not users are receiving reasonable 24 hour Internet speeds

Also I have heard of an Internet company called Ji net, like to hear from anyone using that service.

Thanks

The Indy package is mostly for domestic use. I switched to Premier and it is a whole lot better. The 1m premier is better than the 2m indy in my experience. torrents work again and voip. Of course its still Thailand so it goes down often as usual and is still slow as molasses during peak periods. I dont think u will find any internet service in Thailand that will work good 24/7.

Maxnet (owned by TT&T) does not have a monopoly as internet provider. You can choose pretty much any ISP to come in over your TT&T line.

You'll have to go to your TT&T office, tell them to cancel your Maxnet, and give you the application forms for Csloxinfo, KSC, Ji-net... TT&T will handle the application, you'll just have to pay the respective ISP (after TT&T informs you of the price) and show them the bank transfer slip.

This said, IMO Maxnet is not better nor worse then any of the other ISP's, meaning the home packages are bad with the occasional bright moment, the SME packages (such as Premier) are good with the occasional bad moment, and the full business packages are not affordable :o
