What’s the best area in Thailand for expats to settle for long-term living?

With typical blindness, you're overlooking the vast number of girls working in the malls, restos, hotels, dept stores, convenience stores, real estate, tourism, transportation, supermarkets, condos, schools, hospitals, pharmacies, shops, and various other businesses. It's kind of like our ANF Economists who've never seen a shopper in Thai mall, because, as only farang have money, and farang won't pay those ripoff prices, they by definition cannot exist. Nor, for the same reason, can Thai domestic tourists. What, with that vast number of available women you can't see? Easy, except for the typical farang monger. But in fact I don't enjoy the bar scene and never did. Just nothing more boring than sitting there having an utterly inane conversation with a bar girl or listening to blather emanating from the barstool next over. The go-gos were kinda fun back in the 90s when the music was bearable, owing to the visuals. Those were a draw. The TQ still played listenable music long thereafter, so I'd stop in during the day when I'm out anyway. Very retro, with some great characters. But I found it's also changed a bit. I still wish the place well and hope it continues, but haven't been in for over a year now. I've been with an educated, middle-class office lady, now business owner, for a couple of decades now. Always worked and had her own money. Fluent English, great shape from diet, working out, and yoga. “Why would I settle for hamburger when I have steak at home," as Paul Newman said. Overall, I found Pattaya the most convenient place to live in Thailand, and I think it still is. I enjoy my quiet life here by the beach. You have to consider the total package, as I did, in which the advantages greatly outweigh the disadvantages. And those disadvantages can usually be worked around or minimized, if not eliminated. One can live a pleasant life in Pattaya without ever visiting or even seeing the bar scene. -

First, there are statistically no "uneducated" voters in the USA regardless of political party affiliation. Second, If by "uneducated" you intended to imply those without a high-school diploma feel free to cite your current evidence from reputable sources. According to my knowledge, and yes, I am aware of the current data the margin of difference is currently negligible and trending towards the Democrats being the party of the most "educated". Third, and more to the point: What is the correlation between a Thai being financially scammed and whether more "uneducated" Americans vote for Democrats, Republicans, third parties or vote at all? Fourth, speaking of scams, if your agenda is to imply that those who currently support the US Republican party versus the Democratic party are more intelligent people overall I suggest you pay close attention to fact-checkers regarding all candidates, particularly to Trump/Vance who have abysmal and dangerous records to the point of employing the Big Lie repeatedly to manipulate their gullible supporters. The current facts are that the increase in education reflects an increase by a wide margin in those who report voting for Democrats most of the time. If it keeps rising, or does not go down very soon...I will just stop buying. I have most everything I need, anyway. The price of eggs is the same, and the price of Tuna has gone up about 30 percent in recent times... But, how much Tuna can I eat, anyway? So, I guess the Baht's rise will not affect me that much. I might even be dead before I see the Baht come back down to reasonable levels. Still, that's just the price we pay for being alive, and living. -
