MartinBKK
Hi My non B visa has expired and i am now on the free 3 extra months you get on the end of it. I am not able to renew my non B until April so i will need to go to get a 30 day exempt stamp this weekend probably at Poipet in Cambodia. My problem is that i do not yet have a ticket for travel because i am waiting for a visa decision for my girlfriend before i make a booking. Apparently you need to have an airline ticket to be leaving Thailand within the 30 days after you receive the stamp. I know i can buy a full priced refundable ticket and refund it later with a penalty but is there any other alternative to this method? I would be grateful for any help. lopburi3
I believe only some checkpoints, on the Cambodia border, are currently making that a requirement - so you could avoid those checkpoints. Some allow a 200 baht bus ticket on that border. Other countries do not seem to require for most travelers. If a ticket is needed you also have the option of a cheap ticket on AirAsia or other carrier and just not use it if it does not fit your plans later. gunnyd
Jack's Golf offers this visa run for those without a plane ticket. The extra 200baht is for a bus ticket they by to meet the ongoing travel requirement. http://www.jackgolf.com/en/visa_run/index.html#Cambodia [07:00 Ban Leam border trip] 2,200B *multi-visa holder 2,000B No need returning flight ticket! Depart Everyday Requirement : Passport / photo x 2 I believe there are other visa run services that do the exact same thing. I have used Jack's service and it wasn't too bad. Double Decker bus to border stops after about 2 hours for potty/smoke break, arrives at border around 11am, cross into Cambodia to casino for buffet lunch (nothing impressive), 11:30-45 leave with fresh stamp, 2 hours later stop, then arrive back in BKK around 5pm.
