CAT to pull the plug on telegram service

BANGKOK: -- CAT Telecom Plc will cease operating the telegram service in May this year, due to the service's declining popularity in the era of e-mail and mobile phones and to cut the operating cost of around Bt25 million per month.

Currently the service has generated only Bt5,000 of monthly revenue.

Whooha, a slightly slow move methinks, with an operating cost of 25 million and a revenue of 5000 Baht :o

I can't see a private organization being so persistent in keeping such a loss making venture alive!
