Dropped Hard Drive

Featured Replies

I dropped my portable hard drive recently and has now stopped working. A friend of mine has had a look at it and said that all the informtaion is still there and can be retrieved. Does anyone know of anywhere in Pattaya that could do this?

Since no one has responded, I'll tell you my experience. I was able to take the hard drive out of the exclosure and used the extra cable connections in my computer to hook up direct. I was able to salvage most of the information and copy it to my master hard drive. The dropped hard drive had many damaged sectors that I couldn't recover but I was happy with what I was able to save. That hard drive was junk. Maybe I was just lucky.

It will sound crazy, and I cannot take responsibility but some people say drop it a few times more... Less hard to avoid shock damage, but hard enough to get heads re-a-lined.

It is not a new trick, old Conner or Western Digital hard drives had a kick me please reputation....
