I have 3 employees conducting meetings and training in Taipei, Taiwan. They're coming up on their 30 day limitation (not there on visas) for their passports and the company is considering flying them to Hong Kong, China for a day or 2 to reset the 30 day limitation in Taiwan (we need them there an additional 2 weeks).

Will this work? Since mainland China considers Taiwan part of ROC (at least to my knowledge they do), will China consider my employee's passports as being in violation of the 30 day limitation?

EDIT: Sorry, I posted this in the wrong forum, can it be moved please? I can't seem to see how to delete it.

As for immigration, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan are separate. There are no direct flights between Taiwan and mainland China. Only flights from Taiwan to Hong Kong, which is administered separately from mainland China. There was some talk about direct flights, but as far as I know they have not been implemented (except for during the Spring Festival period).

They will fly into Hong Kong and be given the full time in Hong Kong (visa free, if from the US). They would need visas to go to mainland China, so probably better to just stay in Hong Kong. When they return to Taiwan, they would be given the full amount of their visa free entries also.
