No Visuals In Winamp

Featured Replies

Hi all. I hope you can help with what I think is something easy. I can't view a downloaded tv show in my Winamp player. I've upgraded it and fiddled with the settings but I can only hear the audio with no visuals. I'm only new to downloading tv and movies but have watched about 10 episodes all without a problem through windows media player but this file says the code is incompatible or corrupt. So I tried it in winamp and like I said, got the audio but no visual. Is there some basic step I'm missing. Not really knowledgeable about codex either if this is something to consider.

Thanks in advance :o

Perhaps Winamp is only for music videos??? Anyone, anyone?? For some reason can't find any info on the net specifically dealing with this!

You don't have a proper video codec for this file. WMP gives a message and winamp does not in this case.

You might have some luck with VLC Player:

Seconded- great player. Fast to load and plays everything.

Beat me to it.

What is the file extension? Example: Lost_S04E04.avi, .avi is the file extension. Could be FLV, MPG, MP4, AVI, RMVB.

Agree VLC Player or BS Player Pro are the best, for FLV get the FLV Player, RMVB: Real Media.

Note that there are a ton of fake TV shows out there; you download them (which are not real, in most cases the episode has not even aired yet) and they force you to a proprietary player/website, even VLC won't help with these. It is best to download from a trusted or vetted source.
