I just bought an hp C8180 top-model printer and refill the inks myself via special refillable cartridges which give prints as good as the original inks.

Printing my 3 Megapixel camera shots at 6" x 4", the paper quality is important -- but just how important? I was amazed to find that hp do 4 grades of photo paper alone : everyday, photo, premium and premium plus. I've been using premium, bought at a discount via eBay, but was wondering if a generic inkjet photo paper would be as good at that size of print.

What are your experiences with non-original papers for home snaps ... good enough? Thanks.
