Some times ago we discussed this topic and you asked me to report to you when I have the answer from the Immigration.

Here the clear answer from the Bkk Immigration: We cannot accept any confirmation ( even paid taxes) from your Thai employer; the income confirmation has to come from your embassy.

They also pushed very hard that I should change from "Thai wife" to a retirement visa after my retirement. The first officer even told me that in case of retirement the Thai wife option would be no more available. I told her that she was wrong and asked to see her superior. This very good looking superior told me, that the other officer probably didn't understand my question and that I could of course have a Thai wife option. She even explained to my wife that if needed, she could help with the needed proof of income of 40,000 Baht by paying taxes. But she also mentioned that this requirements are for NOW and possible changes or coming. No details available for the moment.
