Hotels Near Los Angeles Airport

The title says it all... I will have to stay overnight near the airport, waiting for a connecting flight. First time I will be in LA, so any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Hi Pete_r,

The airport is located in a not so nice part of town. Not the type of place you would want to walk around at night. There are the standard large hotel chains very near the airport which are fine if you just plan to sleep and go back to the airport for a quick lay over.

If you happening to be passing thru on a Friday or Saturday night, you can often find reduced weekend rates at the nicer chain's airport hotels in the US (e.g. Marriott, Hyatt, etc.).

This time I'll be there on a monday evening, but that's good to know.

Stay close to the airport as possible. It's gets scary east of the 405 freeway but the hotels are cheaper out there. Most of the hotels by LAX have a shuttle service. There is a travelodge near the airport but it's still around $80 night.

You can often get VERY good deals on Priceline for hotels around LAX. Have stayed there several times in 3-4 star properties for USD50-USD70, when the hotels rack-rate/online rates were USD150-USD200 for the same night.
