I have a 10 hour layover in Dubai on my way from Moscow to Singapore in late June. Arrive at DBX at 23.30 and depart to SIN at 0910. Bags will have been checked through. Whats the best deal for a hotel so I can crash. (will be absolutely knackered from Russia ) Close to, or in the airport itself is good. I dont go through this part of the world much at all but I reckon you guys from Europe should know it like the back of your hand. Dont care about the room standard as all I will need is a bed to crash in.

I'm always staying at the airport hotel inside the arrival hall.

follow the link for there website ( http://www.dih-dca.com/dih-dca/index.htm ) where you can book an room online.

The rooms are nice with an good bathroom, Channels on TV are so so but I don't care.

There is also an health club and swimming pool for the guest.

Next to the check-in counter is an bar for your night cap.

Does anyone know if any of the 'cheap hotel' sites can offer rooms at the Dubai Internation Airpot Hotel. Been to most of the usual but cant seem to find it on any.

Been quoted £131 for a 7 ish hour stay. Will pay that amount, as a last resort, but was just wondering if anyone had booked it through a third party.

The Dubai International Airport Hotel ( inside the terminal ) isn't working with internet reservation sites.

They only do reservation via there own website or i believe via the airlines company's.

Cheers for that, i thought that must be the case.

Have you, or anyone, any experience of the Marhaba Lounge ?

The Marhaba lounge is about the same as the emirates lounge. ( Not to bad and not very as it is very busy from times to times )

For so far i know you only have access with an invitation and no payment access is allowed.

Can 'pay at the door' 23 USD

Was worried about the overcrowding, says it holds 88 but was curious at to whether they close the door at 88 and put up the full notices or continue taking the money.

I usually stay at the Millenium when I get held over at Dubai. Used to be $185 till they painted the rooms. I just booked for April 3 and it was $300 with tax - ouch! It is about the closest hotel to the airport (other than the airport hotel). They provide free transport - 10min ride. Used Marahaba once and it was OK - smaller than Emirates. I seem to remember they had a time max of around five hours.

Be careful with any medications you may be carrying as Dubai has gone level 3. If they class it a drug you could have a problem even with a prescription. Four years in the Dubai Hilton could be worse than four years in the Bangkok Hilton.

I've never paid that much for the Millenium, but I've always booked it as a stopover hotel with Emirates (got their own wing, check in facilities & customer service in the hotel) at their office in BKK.
