Renew thai's & international driving license

Featured Replies

I'm holding the Thai's Driving License issued in Phuket 2 yrs ago. It is possible to renew and upgrade to Thai's International Driving License...?

What is the rules and regulations...kindly advise, thanks...!

I read on another website that they're now issuing 5-year Thai driving licences instead of just 1-year.

Can anyone confirm this?  My licence expires in October, and it would save a lot of hassle if it were true!

Cheers.

Hi Kit

What is the expiry date on your Licence

is it 2545?

We are now in 2546 BE

I THINK you have 12 months AFTER expiry

in which to RENEW your licence

- but it must be IN  PERSON (to sign it)

I think your saying UPGRADE to International

is not Accurate - I think an International Licence

is Separate for Driving Outside of the Kingdom

Roger

Is it true that I can change my ( foreign ) International driving license to a Thai driving license when I am in Thailand ?

Thanks.

Hi grtaylor

Yes it is true.

5 Year Driving Licences are now being issued.

I renewed mine 2 days ago and was given a new one

valid for more than 5 & half years for Bht500

It took less than one hour for the whole process

at the Transport Department, Morchit.
