To my horror I just got the following message:

mail server:mail.asianet.co.th: account disabled

<deleted>?

I then tried to email myself from my other account and I got:

Mailaddress is administrativley disabled. (LDAP-ERR #220)

All of my other True services are working .... anybody else has trouble with their True based email?

Weren't they about 6 months ago, sending out warnings to people who were using their server to send mail, but receiving through a different provider? There's something like that at the back of my mind. Is that anything to do with it?

I am receiving lots of mails through True so no problems there. I also have 3 other email accounts which I am receiving mails through. I never received any notice of this kind of action.

Second notice 9/25/07:

Dear All TrueMail users,

Reference is made to the previous letter that we requested all TrueMail users to adjust Email Client configuration on Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express within 31 August 2007 in response to the Conditions and Agreement for use of TrueMail Service so as to prevent blockage of TrueMail from other service providers.

We found that few users have responded to the request. However, we consider that if we suspend TrueMail service from 1 September 2007, a number of users who have not adjusted such parameter will be affected.

To avoid service interruption, TrueMail has decided to extend time limit until 14 October 2007 to allow users to reset their Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server of each Email Account to the same Internet service provider. Otherwise, we will suspend TrueMail service from 15 October 2007 onwards.

We truly appreciate your kind cooperation which helps us maintain the benefits of all TrueMail users. If you need more information for Email client configuration, please visit the following website: http://www.trueinternet.co.th/truemail/smtp/en/

Original notice 08/02/07:

Dear All TrueMail users,

Due to the fact that some TrueMail users currently receive and send e-mail through Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express by setting e-mail client for multiple incoming e-mail accounts but single outgoing via TrueMail account. We also found a great number of spam mails have been sent through TrueMail account which is contrary to Conditions and Agreement of using TrueMail service; and it may cause all TrueMail accounts to be blocked by other e-mail service providers.

Accordingly, we are requesting all users to check and correct your e-mail client configuration by setting incoming mail server and outgoing mail server of each e-mail account to the same Internet service provider within 31 August 2007.

As from 1 September 2007, We will suspend our service to any users who have not adjusted such configuration.

We truly appreciate your kind cooperation which helps us maintain the benefits of all TrueMail users. If you need more information for e-mail client configuration, please visit http://www.trueinternet.co.th/truemail/smtp/

Users of any other Internet Service Providers may check the information from your service provider’s website.

Thanks Lopburi,

Thx again Lopburi, I will look into that later ..... meanwhile I had to go to the True office today in Fortune Town. My whole internet got disconnected all day. I am now finally back online. Seems someone mixed my account up with someone elses ..... had to go there and ID myself with my passport. They apologized and were very nice about it. So no sweat, just one lost day internetwise.
