Sojourner
What happened? One of the hottest topics of the last couple of months has fallen off the face of the earth. I've been waiting with baited breath for a week to hear what is happening when a frequent runner tries to cross back into LOS. Was it all smoke? lopburi3
I suspect that post was asked to keep cool for the time being. But I would not advise making a border run without the cash available if your passport may attract attention. We have been warned so action could come at any time. PeaceBlondie
Yes, I think they were more throrough today at Mae Sai, than they were the two other times I've been there in the last 12 months. There were two officials monitoring the queue before you get to the window, and new signs saying you have to show cash. At least one of those two officials asked me if I had the cash, and the guy in the window scriutinised my passport for phony stamps. I did not want to carry the cash, but I carried it. I wouldn't go to Mae Sai without the 20K or 20K, as the case may be.
