Asia Airlines Uses Suvannaphum Or Don Muang ?

Featured Replies

I can't find a pinned topic that clearly states which airlines are using DM and which are using SVP. My friends are arriving in from Korea on Thai Air (SVP), and have tix up to Chiang Mai on Air Asia right after they arrive. Will they have to transfer to Don Muang first or not? I'm sure some of you travelers out there know the easy answer to this. THanks!

SVP - CM with Air Asia

SVP - CM with Air Asia

Not quite sure if am too late to reply this. But if you are using Air Asia, you will need to transfer to SVP. Air Asia both demestic and internationally would be at SVP only.

Just the note for the domestic flight in Thailand now. If the No of the flight are 3 digit, the plane will be landed in SVP. If the flight no is with 4 digits, that plane will take you to DM.

So with a flight # like FD 3234, that sounds pretty much like Don Muang -CNX doesn't it ? Never heard of the three-digit / four-digit rule till now. Thanks.

I think it is only TG that used 3 digits for Suvarnabhumi & 4 digits for Don Muang

Yes....your corret...Only TG which his friend took from Khonkhaen :D

All Air Asia flights, both International and Domestic, use Suvarnabhumi.

Nok Air,Thai and,I think,Orient Air use Dom Muang for domestic flights at the moment but it is rumoured they will be moving back to Suvarnabhumi in the near future.

Your friend's Thai Airways flight from Korea will arrive at BKK (Suvarnubhumi, DMK is Don Muang)). They will have to through immigration and collect their bags. Then they have to go to Air Asia check in for Chiang Mai which is also at BKK. All Air Asia flights operate from BKK but they must clear immigration first on arrival at BKK.

ALL international flights arrive and depart from BKK (Suvarnabhumi).

Thai Air domestic flights with 3 digits (eg TG-123) operate out of BKK. Thai domestic flights with 4 digit flight numbers (eg TG-1234) fly from Don Muang (DMK).

ALL Air Asia and Bangkok Airways flights operate out of BKK.

ALL Nok Air domestic flights leave from DMK with the exception of the short hop to Hua Hin which Nok operates for SGA. Nok Air's international flight to Hanoi flies from BKK.

ALL 1-2-Go flights operate out of DMK.

All very confusing.......... :o
