90-day Rule Query

Featured Replies

Hey,

Firstly, an apology to those who have posted plenty of information regarding the 90-day rule. I am still a bit confused and so would like some

clarification as to my entry-visa eligibility.

I am a belgian passport-holder and have already travelled to Thailand during :

Jan 12, 2008 - Jan 27, 2008 (15 days) - Received 30-day entry visa at the airport.

Mar 31, 2008 - Apr 20, 2008 (21 days) - Received 30-day entry visa at the airport.

I have plans to go back to Thailand in :

May 21, 2008 (5 days)

June 30, 2008 - July 20, 2008 (21 days)

Would i be refused a 30-day entry visa if i planned to make the next two trips as indicated above? Would i need to then apply for a tourist visa? or am i still ok under the 90-day rule?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You will still be well within 90 days so will get 30 day visa exemptions without a problem. Bear in mind though that your first trip was 16 days (count day of entry and exit).

One quirk that has been reported on occasion.

If you arrive within 30 days of the end of your 6 month period (which will end on July 12th - 6 months from January 12th) you may only get a stamp valid until the end of the 6 month period no matter how many days you have (or haven't) used and will have to do a border run on the 12th to get a full 30 days :o

I've seen it in action once at the airport (chap in front of me was stamped for 3 days although he was well within the limit).
