A visa consultant offered to get me a Non B visa, work permit and set up a company all without

me having to leave Thailand ? But i would need to make a " payment " to this persons friend

at immigration who is " well connected ". My gut reaction is to avoid this situation like the plague because I have NEVER

heard of anyone being able to get a Non B without making a trip somewhere out of the country

first ? Or am i wrong ?

My recommendation is not to use this consultant. Instead, use a reputable law firm, for example one of the sponsors of this forum (Sunbelt Asia, Siam Legal), and you should have no worry.

Just about anything is possible regarding just about anything in Thailand when enough is offered. This applies to just about any Immigration or Foreign Ministry function, as well.

But just because it's available (what you wrote of and even a great deal more), doesn't mean it's wise to avail oneself of it.
