Ok I seek advice and I have no idea if anyone can help.

My filipina gf is living with me in BKK. I am here on a non immigrant B visa and have a work permit.

She arrived here first in Bkk direct from Mnila on 14/3/08 and left Thailand on 4/4/08 flying straight back to Manila. On 15th April 2008 she flew in to Bkk again and has a stamp in passport showing she arrived 15/ 4/08 and that she must leave on or by 14th May.

I want her to live here long term with me. Whats the best way to handle things? What is the deal on/after 1th May ? Must she do a visa run?...has she just got one more 30 days allowed after she leaves on the 14th May or earlier? Does she then have to move back to the Phils for 3 months?

Is a student visa possible ? Is there any other way she can stay legally? What would you do?

Thank you.

She could get a tourist visa.

The 90 day limit in 6 months are only for visa exempt entries. If you have a visa, you can always come.

I believe this would be a good use of Thai language study student visa (for real study) and taking care of the visa problem at the same time.

"She arrived here first in Bkk direct from Mnila on 14/3/08 and left Thailand on 4/4/08"

thats ya first of 3

"15th April 2008 she flew in to Bkk again and has a stamp in passport showing she arrived 15/ 4/08 and that she must leave on or by 14th May"

thats ya second

"has she just got one more 30 days allowed after she leaves on the 14th May or earlier?"

yep

if ya add em all up you may have a week or 2 left after ya next 30, however,

"Does she then have to move back to the Phils for 3 months?"

if you do the 90 days to the max you might find yourselfe in that position, im not 100% sure of if you stay 89 days all is ok, 90 days, is then 90 days out and with the total lack of knowledge around esp in the img circles, dont get too close to 90 leave a bit for plan b.

"Is a student visa possible ?"

i know nothing of this, but read lopburi3 reply and googled what he said and would think that would be the best option if you have the funds time criteria etc

http://www.thaiwalen.com/html/student_visa.html

the one above is what i googled, dont personally know of it or advise it, but seems to fit your plan!

other option if availible maybe get a 1 year from Philippines???? dont know weather ya can, but british can get one year maybe worth an ask!

i googled visa philapines and it would appear you may get 59 days,

now this may be good news or, it may mean the bottle of bacardi and moet chandon did the trick!

best of

chris
