In May I will go to Jomtien Immigration to renew my retirement visa (3rd renewal).

1) I assume that my folder is still at Suan Phlu. Will that be an issue? Will they want anything extra from me?

2) Is it still necessary for me to top off my funds to 800k three months in advance?

3) I have a Kbank account in BKK and another Kbank account in Jomtien. The two accounts will total more than 800k. Will I need a letter from both branches of Kbank?

Thx.

Good questions.

Different officers, different offices, give different info on different days.

However, last year at Jomtien (October) I was told explicitly that for people using the 800K in the bank, the three month rule only applied to FIRST TIME extensions. Subsequent extensions, not needed. I still wouldn't bet the farm on it though.

Jomthien appears to be a bit special in some ways. I have seen posts of at least half a dozen members saying that they were told that next time they would not need to have the 800k in the account for three months before application.

I have also seen posts by some members saying that they had to provide a photocopy of a credit or ATM card. Whether this was in lieu of the three months’ seasoning has never been conclusively clarified.

What I have not yet seen is a post by a member confirming that at Jomthien he obtained a repeat extension for retirement without the three months’ seasoning and without a copy of a credit or ATM card.
