Avg 8 Update

Featured Replies

I recently upgraded from AVG 7.5 to the new AVG 8 version.

Now I get a warning note every time I open Microsoft Outlook stating "Nod32\emon.dll plugin has been disabled by outlook - please uninstall the add-in"

How do I do this?

It would appear that the system had (at one time) the ESET NOD32 anti-virus installed on it. The EMON.DLL is the email virus scanner for NOD32.

Under CONTROL PANEL > ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS, check that the ESET NOD32 AV has been uninstalled. If it has not, then uninstall it. (If ESET NOD32 is not listed, then we assume it has been uninstalled.) This should fix the issue in Outlook.

If that procedure doesn't correct it, or if NOD32 wasn't displayed in the list of installed programs, disable the ESET NOD32 Outlook add-in:

In Outlook

1. On the Tools menu, click Trust Center, and then click Add-ins.

2. In the Add-ins box, identify the add-in that you want to enable or disable and note the Add-in type located in the Type column.

3. Select the Add-in type in the Manage box and then click Go.

4. Select or clear the check box for the Add-in that you want enable or disable and then click OK.
