I am thinking of upgrading to Vista Home Premium to use the Media Centre application  to display direct to my 40" LCD TV.

Has anyone found a Vista compatible remote and receiver available in Thailand.

Cannot find one in Khon Kaen

Wouldnt a standard digital tuner do the job???Any biggish PC shop will have one i would imagine.

Thanks for the reply. I want to use the media centre applications in Win Vista, with no keyboard or mouse only the remote control, via the TV screen.

I do not need a tuner as all my TV comes via satellite dish, but I would like to feed the sat box output back to Vista on the PC to record via the hard disk.

I can buy Vista OK, but not seen a compatible remote control.

Buy a gyration one from ebay..

The dogs pods and WAAAY better than an IR one..

If you have a supported IR Rx I heard you can use the xbox 360 one.. i like the gyration as its the same layout as the 360 so the GF sees the same button layout on 360 and MCE for the same controls and same interface (using the 360 as a MCE extender).
