I'm 20 years old from the U.S., I will be 21 at the time I enter Thailand. I was wondering how long I can stay? the thai embassy in Washington, D.C.'s website says a tourist visa is 2 months and extension can be applied in thailand, but says nothing about multiple entries, but after reading some info on this website, I see there are multiple entry tourist visas, I can get a 60 day visa, and get it stamped at an immigration office and stay another 30 days (so 90 days now), than I have to leave the country and can get another 60 day tourist visa with can be extended 30 days at an immigration office, so this totals 6 months and is a 3 or triple entry tourist visa which is the maximum number of entries allowed to a U.S. citizen?

I plan on training thai boxing, as far as I know I'll be training at one camp but I might travel around and train at 3 camps, when they ask my address in thailand on the visa application should I put the first camp I'm staying at? the first hotel I'm staying at? what should I write for address in thailand if I'm moving around? I assume I can put the owner of one of the boxing gyms I will stay at as my reference person in Thailand?

What kind of savings do I need for 6 months? sorry if I should know these things but I havent dealt with these things before.

Thanks in advance,

George

You can go to a neighboring country to Thailand and get another Tourist Visa (maybe a double) as many times as you like. At the moment there is no limit.

As for savings, there is no definitive answer.

For a 21 year old male there are many distractions eager to part you from your money. :o

Your first place of stay should be on the arrival card.

Don't believe there is really any need for reference person for US passport holders. You can put "self" to make the form complete if you want (I always do).
