LivinginKata Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Woow... what a day today. It's been a long time since I've seen such bad weather. Low clouds, rain, and wind. UBC keeps going down, lucky we have cable TV, but only a matter of time before the electric goes off. Actually it's amazing the the electric has not even stuttered ... so far. Obviously I am so bored today, bottled up in the house for the past 6 hours, and no sign at all (in the Phuket Airport rain radar site) of any end in sight. So much for our life in Paradise.... PS .. I'm struggling to post this as Internet connection terrible today

LivinginKata Posted May 9, 2008 Author Posted May 9, 2008 Yes, you are correct, But their military government has much to answer for.... mai ?
Redted Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Back in the UK for the low season, weather is great around 19 to 23. First time back in the UK for nearly two years. Prices for food has shot up and petrol prices are staggering. Having some of the best nights sleep in a long time. Internet is great and it is nice to watch some good old British programs. But having said that I miss Phuket and cant wait to get back to work in the sun. So if the rain is getting you down think of the weather in the UK in the depths of winter, when its raining in Phuket. That should put a smile back on your face Ted. PS. Posting a funny to make you smile on a wet day. Just click on the pic.
LivinginKata Posted May 9, 2008 Author Posted May 9, 2008 Sounds like ideal weather to be stuck in a nice bar. Wishfull thinking ... still stuck on that siesmic boat ?? Too bad...
DrDave Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 LivingInKata, was that you we saw driving about yesterday in a nice little Mazda convertable? If so, unfortunately not very good "top down" weather now!

If so, unfortunately not very good "top down" weather now! Yes Dave, that was me. The wife insisted I stop driving the bike over to Patong, so I 'insisted' on an open top sports car. Hence the Mazda MX5. Never driven a bike for the past 3 months, great. Might have to fit the hard top soon...

Sir Burr Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Yes, my wife has the MU7. Well so long Redted as the rules say the previously banned members can't sign on with another name. Mods... please note, and thanks..... The MX5 is a girl's car and you're a mod wannabe .
LivinginKata Posted May 10, 2008 Author Posted May 10, 2008 you're a mod wannabe Been there, done that, don't want to do it again .....
LivinginKata Posted May 10, 2008 Author Posted May 10, 2008 Next day on .... Well, another day stuck in the house. Got square eyes watching TV and looking at Internet. Weather seems to be even worse than yesterday. Now 15.10 and no end in sight on the rain radar.
geriatrickid Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 you're a mod wannabe Been there, done that, don't want to do it again ..... Were you a mod back in the day? I saw Quadraphenia on the telly awhile back and it sort of brought me up to speed on the mods vs the teddyboy rockers. (Is this why there is a dustup between you and Ted, like you guys are having a turf war?) Maybe you can start a new mod club or something in Patong to make the rainy season fun again and organize mod night at a bar to give a break from the brain cell killing thumppity thump thump of the overdubbed techno poop that is everywhere. What I'd give for a bit of the Jam especially since it's Paul Weller's 50th bday on the 25th of May. He's getting old, although he looked old when I saw him in uni, but now he's like really sort of ancient like someone's dad, but fortunately still most excellent.
LivinginKata Posted May 11, 2008 Author Posted May 11, 2008 Were you a mod back in the day? Think you are on the wrong track ...
