Hi Sorry if a similar post has been responded to, but I have questions:

backhround:

1. I am a Married Australian and my wife (also Australian) is teaching at a fairly reputable school (Currently on a one year contract)

2. I have a non-immi B single entry Visa which will expire in a couple of weeks.

3. I was teaching at a school, but have since left after completing the summer program not wanting to not obtain a Yearly Visa/Teaching permit

4. I want to work in Thailand, in the Aid and Development/Health arena as I am a trained and experienced social worker who has worked in research, project management, counselling etc.

5. I have not yet found a suitable role, and am unsure as to how long this process might take

6. I am keen to learn Thai, for both personal reasons but also to help me in my employment prospects

What should I do about my Visa situation, what are my options:

I gather the following:

1. I can enrol as a student and get an ED Visa

2. I think I can exit and enter on a tourist visa

Are there any other options, and given my above mentioned ambitions what would be your recommendations.

As a side note I have been seeking employment through various avenues (hoping that I would land this before my non B Visa expired) does anyone have any contacts or recommendations in this regard] .

Cheers,

1. Yes

2. Yes - a tourist visa or a 30 day visa exempt entry.

Does you wife have a one year extension of stay from Immigration?

If I take the said options (either Ed Visa or Tourist Visa) what will I have to do once or when I do find work.

My wife is currently on a Non-B but this is currently being processed by the school she works at. We assume she will have a one year visa and obviously a teaching permit.

Is there anything else I could do and what would be the best course of actions and when should I do it (I currently only have two weeks left.

You would have to leave after you obtain work paperwork/work permit receipt for a non immigrant B visa. This is normal procedure for most new workers.
