Seems like international phone services not using CAT are illegal. Does this apply to internet phone services as well (skype etc)?

so call the number and ask them. Then again while in Italy for many years, I learned that if you ask a question then you will get an awnser.

I know call back services are illegal, not sure about internet phones though! Wouldn't surprise me though!

Would be interested to know whether Thai laws were ever updated to allow the use of fax machines and modems on phone lines. A number of years ago I was told that only voice communications were legal over phone lines. Not sure if this was/is true however.

Wouldn't surprise me if that were the case. Gives the powers-that-be all the legal backing they need anytime a crackdown is deemed necessary.
