The following may be informative for anyone going to Jomtien Office, Pattaya in the near future for a yearly visa extension based on marriage to a Thai national. I have had 8 previous extensions. I was determined this year to have everything they wanted in duplicate, signed and sealed. When we showed the requested photos of our house and family ( we have a 6 year old daughter) we were told that we had to have family photos taken in different rooms in our house (they didn't mention the bathroom but this may be a requirement next year( joke). Having been told that our visa would not be processed until they had these aforementioned photos, I was allowed in fact to hand over 1900 baht and got the usual come back in 28 day stamp in my passport in the understanding that I would come back with the photos the following day (which I did).We were then ushered to the desk of the very pleasant lady at the back who checks everything. Having done this she then took out two forms which in fact turned out to be questionnaires and she proceeded to ask my wife the following questions. She noted down the answers in the appropriate places.

How many brothers and sisters do you have?

Do you have a job?

What's your daughter's favourite colour?

What's the colour of her bedcover?

What make of TV do you have?

What inch screen?

What make of car do you have?

What colour is it?

My wife was then asked to sign the form.

She then took the other form and I presumed she was going to ask me the same questions - but no.

She asked my wife how many brothers or sister I had. My wife answered 2. This was duly noted down and I was then asked to sign the form.

Indeed a bizarre experience.
