Hello everyone. I'm coming to Thailand soon to study permaculture in Northern Thailand. Is there any type of visa that I can get to stay for an extended period of time longer than the 90 days allowed with a tourist visa? Also, what type of visa would a freelance writer get and how?

Thanks.

You need to define what you mean by study.

If you will be at a formal institution like a University you should be able to apply for a

Non Immigrant Education visa which will cover one year.

You will need documentation to prove your enrollment etc.

Otherwise the Double entry Tourist Visa will cover almost 6 months of stay.

I am not sure if the Hongkong consulate will issue this. You will need to check with them.

As a freelance writer I do not believe there is any special visa to help you,

but if you have press accreditation then there is a category for you.

may provide some guidance.
