Spotted this sign today and wonder what, when and where the event is.

Can anybody interpret this for me please

Much appreciated

Hi Vulcan,

My wife says it's:

An army/armed forces show/demonstration at Hua Hin airport

2 days 30th and 31st May, 09:00 - 16:00pm

Free admission

She wasn't 100% it was at the Hua Hin airport, there some air force places further past the airport on way to Cha Am, so that needs checking out.

Thay're not far from each other anyway and it should be sign-posted.

Cheers

PS: If she's got it all wrong, I'll refund your admission fee :o

Thank you, that's very kind of you.

p.s. If I meet you at the gate I'll gladly pay for your admission! :D

Well it says the Hua Hin Airport area in the Prachuab Khirikhan province, but nothing is ever for sure in thailand, is it? :D

the boundary between prajuap province and phetchburi province to the north actually runs through the airport , if its in prajuap then it might be one of the army/airforce camps just to the south of hua hin.

it does need checking out.

its a demo of parachuting , air sea rescue and general shenanigins by the thai armed forces and police.

recipe for a disaster if you ask me.

i will be going.

SAREX; Search and Rescue exposition?

A few years ago the army (or airforce) did para drop into the camp btwn cha-am and hua hin. a few of the guys landed in the lake/swamp (you can see it from petchkasem rd). they either couldnt swim or were dragged down by thier parachutes...the death toll was 4 or 5. :o

Checked it out today and it's definitely at HH airport and the beach behind the site.

Apparently a small show on Friday with the main event being Saturday.
