Thai Song - Chalawan

Featured Replies

Anyone ever studied this song at all? Have spent a while looking at it but am really struggling to make head or tail of it as it is full of Laos and obscure (often pornographic) allusions. I know it is pretty vulgar but it seems to be light hearted enough. Just wish we had more songs like it in the West!

Got a youtube link to the karaoke video, and have found the lyrics in Thai if anyone is interested.

Hope there is an Isarn/Laos/Thai expert out there somewhere, would love to discuss the song with someone.

JJ.

Just read a Thai forum about the song, and the consensus seemed to be it was smutty, rude, vulgar bad for Thai youth, bad for Thai mental development and the song writer should be ashamed of themselves.

Some said, don't take it so seriously it is just a bit of fun. Must admit that is the side I come down on. :o

Funny how Internet forums are the same whatever language they are in! :D
