I has wondering if i leave the country with only my 30 day entry stamp that i get at bkk if i can get back in and get a new 30 day stamp. or do i ned to apply for a tourist visa at the consulote here in Vancouver before i go? I am planing on doing a little traveling around Laos and Cambodia and then heading back to thailand.

You can do it as many times as you like, so long as you don't spend more than 90 days here in a 6 month period.

Have fun

Edit- rereading, I should have been more concise. You can have as many visa exempt entries as above

I'd think that since you seem to be in Vancouver it'd be easier all around if you just got a multiple entry tourist visa.

That way no hassle at all with some Thai Immigration guy having had a bad night and asking you for your plane ticket out of Thailand, as they sometimes do for the 30-day Visa Exempt chop.

There is a good chance that the airline will not let you on the flight from Canada to Bangkok if you do not have a return ticket within 30 days.

You will need a VISA.
