Hi! I have been working here for almost a year now and I am planning to bring my son here to study. I was advised by some friends to apply for a Non-O visa for my son. I was also advised by our some friends to instead apply for a Non-Ed visa in the Thai Embassy in the Philippines. Could you please tell me the difference and the advantage/s if there are any.

Both are short for > Non Immigrant Visa

- in the case of the second name > for Education.

Details of how to obtain a Non Imm Visa for Ed - to study Thai for example

are in the Adverts by Walen and Pro at the top of this Topic

Sorry - this does not answer all your questions

But as nobody has given you an answer - the above is what I know

Hope it helps

I am assuming that you are not bringing your son over to study Thai language at a private language school.

An education visa is what you want. If he is enrolled in an international school, or something like that, then he could get a visa good for a year without the needs for leaving the country.

Check with whichever school you are planning on him attending. They should know how to do this.
