Female Thief Arrested in Lucifer’s Disco

At around 4:00 on Friday morning a 36-year-old Thai woman was brought to the Soi 9 police station by way of the Tourist Police bus parked on Walking Street after being allegedly caught with a handbag that didn’t belong to her.

The detained woman had been drinking inside the popular Lucifer’s Disco on Walking Street when she decided to help herself to a bag belonging to a 33-year-old Thai female customer. The bag’s owner, and a 22-year-old Thai female friend, had left the bag briefly unattended when the alleged thief took her opportunity and attempted to make a getaway down Walking Street. When the victims returned to their table they saw immediately their bag had been stolen and asked staff if they knew what had happened.

One female staff member was able to identify the thief. The thief was detained after a brief chase on Walking Street, after which she was handed over to the police. Inside the bag was around 8,000 baht in cash as well as three mobile phones and personal documents.
