Autobacs on Naratiwas right off of Sathorn road should be able to sort you out. Might be a bit more expensive than other random tyre shops, but I think they offer a warranty (maybe somebody else can confirm).

Turning into Naratiwas Rd. from the Sathorn Naratiwas intersection, you'll go down less than a kilometer and make a U-turn and it will be on your left as you're approaching Sathorn again. You should be able to spot it before you make the U-turn and then just take the appropriate U-turn to get there.

Thank you very much Teej, I went there and drove out with new tyres within 45 minutes. great service, I was very impressed so will go again next month with mywifes car. it was not cheap, at 4,350 baht a tyre, but they are good quality.

thanks again

You're welcome onnut. I think the service and convenience (in your area) justifies the price. They have professional equipments (some tyre and exhaust shops will jack your car up at the wrong jack points, bad things could happen), a good staff, and nice waiting lounge. And you can probably be more sure that the product you're getting is the real thing (yep, even Thailand has fake tyres).

B-Quik also has a nice little efficient set-up, but I'm not sure if they are in your area. They may offer a bit of a discount over Autobacs, but next time maybe you can try getting 5% off or something seeing as it's your second set of tyres. Most tyre shops accommodate bargaining to an extent, so my guess would be that with a smile and a polite request for discount, you may get it :o

Also, in case you're not aware of this point, you can check when the tyres were manufactured by looking at the sidewall. Somewhere on the sidewall should be 4 numbers, something like 1008 for example (usually enclosed in a kind of horizontal oval). That would mean that the tyres were manufactured in the 10th week of 2008. So make sure you get the newest possible set. Usually not a problem for common size tyres (like your civic), but sometimes on more rare tyres (e.g. 275/35/20), you should really check to see that you're not getting a tyre that's been shelved for 2 years (street tyres shops often store tyres improperly as well, stacking them up one on top of the other.

Thanks for the info Teej,

I looked at a couple of sites on the net before I went and had the tyres replaced. and I was amazed at how much info is on the side of a tyre. I went for Bridgestone all weather and its already made a big difference in handling. the car is in honda at the moment for its 50k service, but when I collect it this afternoon I will check the date they where made, I hope im not dissapointed. :D
