I would like to buy a new diving regulator. Any recommendations on best place to buy gear in Thailand? Would it be worth trying to get one from Singapore instead?

Yes; there are :D ; there is even a dedicated diving subforum here :o

Diving gear isn't cheap in Thailand. I think Malaysia and Singapore do have much better prices then you will get here. If you dive regualrely with a shop you may get a good deal there. Otherwise go to a Dive Exibition (just shortly there was one in BKK) and have a look around. Towards the end of the Exibition you may get some good deals.
