Fire Damages Townhouse

On Tuesday afternoon police and fire brigade units were called to a semi-detached town house in Pattaya to deal with a fire that had apparently started at an altar inside the main room while the owner was out at work. Neighbours spotted smokecoming from the house and realized right away the owner wasn’t having a barbeque and called the relevant authorities.

The owner had lit incense and candles at his home altar and then went to work. The candles had burnt down to such a level they set fire to the wooden table on which they were set and the fire spread from there to the rest of the house. Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control but the house suffered an estimated 50,000 baht in damage.
