Tourist Visa Extension

Further to my previous post. My tourist visa expires on 5 July. I will be extending it. Can I do it early? I will be in BKK on Monday 9 June. If I get 30 days to Aug 4 and then go to the embassy to renew this would give me more leeway on getting a new passport as my pasport expires Dec 30. Bit worried about putting my passport in first and not getting it back before my visa expires.

i know im thick but this sounds to me like you want to extend your visa at the same embassy that will give you a new passport?

fozzy, i and others will try help you, tell the full story if here, when ya arrived, where now, have ya been before if so when, etc etc not bin funny but i cant understand your post, (not started drinking yet)

A bit confusing but it looks to me that your best bet would be to Submit your passport and apply for the new one on 9th June. When you are in Bangkok.You should get it back within 10 days.

When you get the new one back go to any Immigration Office in Thailand and get the 30 day extension.

I do not if they would extend a month early. No harm to ask I suppose.

I see you are British . 10 days seems to be the time it takes to renew passport.

I reread my OP agree it is a little ambiguous, so

Am in Thailand. Got a double entry tourist visa in Laos on 6 May. Stamp good till 5 July. 30 days ext at immo will give me to 4 Aug. Will then do a hop to Ban Laem to activate the second entry.

I need a new passport as mine expires Dec 30. Was going to go to the Brit embassy in Bkk to renew my passport on 9 June, but a bit worried about not getting it back in time to extend before 5 July. Was wondering if it was possible to go to imm on 9 june get the ext to Aug 4 and then go to the brit embassy to renew my passport.

i think you should be fine 9th june, gives you the 10 days lite beer is on about till 19th, then when you go to immigration for your extention they will need both passports so they can transfere all your visa details etc in to new.

maybe, if you not live in bangkok, and you have to travel there, maybe hand it in 9th as you say 10 days later 19th it is ready maybe phone em and arrange to pick it back up tue 1st then nip to imigration then if they cant add the extra days you only lose a few, and all bangkok passport, transferring details and extentions over and done in a day then!
