Visa Help

Featured Replies

Help, I am 38, I have a monthly income, and I am a american currently in Canada. I wish to stay at least 1 year in Thailand. Is there some type of visa I could qualify for . I was in Chiang mai, I liked it there so I stayed for 6 months, of course that was 5 trips to Mae sai! I wish I could find a way to only go every 3rd month. What can I do?? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Get a multiple entry tourist visa, three entries if possible,

jusy before you leave for Thailand.

This will allow you to stay 2 months initially,

then get a one month extension at the immigration office.

You must then visit Mae Sai or one of the other border posts.

Same on the second entry.

Now you have to watch dates as the visa will be close to expiry,

your second border trip must be before the visa expires ( 6 months after issue).

Using the visa carefully in this way you can get almost 9 months stay

and that is about it.

You could then fly down to Penang and get another tourist visa,
