Dear all,

I want build/equip my office computer but I cant found any shops with newer Computer Hardware.

I search new AMD CPU such as Athlon AM2+ Phenom Quad Core HD985ZXAJ4BGH (9850 Black Edition) Agena 2500MHz or at least the cheaper AM2+ Phenom Triple Core (not the more expencive Intel). If been looking for a DSL Load Balancer to bundle 2 ADSL Lines speed into one, for 2 months without success. A good performance mainboard with good price/value from ASRock based on new AMD Socket AM2+ prefer on of these Models: K10N780SLIX3-WiFi, K10N750SLI-WiFi, K10N750SLI-110dB, K10N78hSLI-WiFi, K10N78hSLI-1394 or K10N78hSLI-GLAN (no ASUS or Brands as they are more expencive using the same chipsets) as well for my older Workstation the external module extensions for the mainboard ASRock WiFi-802.11g Module and ASRock MR Card., DDR3 Memory modules (RAM) or 1066 MHz DDR2 Rams with 2 gigabyte per module size, no old 800 MHz DDR2, Products from Linksys (Router) especially Linksys WRT54G router that models what can be used with Linux Firmware inside the routers to flash for example as written here (http://aruljohn.com/info/linksys/), Wifi from DLINK with Range booster etc... Should not be more expencive as in the USA.

It can not be possible that I need to import all technology stuff. Any shops in southern Thailand with mailorder will help.

Thanks for every help

I believe your fears are true. The state of IT in Thailand is strangling it. Hardware and software (save for game titles) both cost substantially more than in other countries, the slow/limited/censored/unreliable internet access is in shambles, state of the art hardware like your list is not for sale, software piracy is rampant, obsolete technologies continue to be adopted, and promising technologies like WiMAX go nowhere. As long as the status quo is people are forced to pay more and get less than elsewhere, it just looks like a losing battle with no hope for the future.

if you buy the 54g you need it to have firmware v1 to v4 , 5 and above cannot be flashed with the opensource firmware ( DD-WRT , openWRT Tomato etc )

my preference is for the 54gl and I have still seen plenty of them around for 1800 baht +
