We saw the first fireflies of the season in our garden last night. Pleasant reminder that the wet season is here to stay.

A couple of years ago my wife called me to the door. As I came outside she pointed to the hillside across the road. It was lit up like a Christmas tree, thousands and thousands of these natures twinkling lights covered the hill.

We have had fireflies for about a month already. They appeared about the same time the flying termites appeared.

i agree they are beautiful when swarming in the bamboo.

As wolfman jack reports, they have been around Chiang Mai for about a month. Sometimes, like last night, we do not see them until we go to bed and see them lighting up. I have also seen them in Wisconsin, and at the border of Mexico and Guatemala. The one last night was very bright.

I grew up in Wisconsin and always enjoy watching them here in Thailand. Good memories.
