My wife ha a 2year exstention to her settlement visa (residence permit)I was wondering what it intitals you in regards being out of the uk. the scouser Posted June 16, 2008 Share Posted June 16, 2008 Providing that you are still in a relationship and otherwise meet the requirements of the Immigration Rules (maintenance accommodation etc.) the residence permit will continue to be valid until its expiry date. Any overly long absences, though, could cause difficulties when applying for indefinite leave or naturalisation as a British citizen. Scouse.
