August 6, 200817 yr Buddha vs JesusSounds like a sellout pay per view event get out the boxing gloves or is it full contact either way I would pay the 50 bucks to see it hahahahahaha.. Nice one!
August 6, 200817 yr Both were teachers. Their teachings had nothing to do with the rewards of the after-life. That was all added after the promoters decided to make a business out of their teachings. Heaven and hel_l are marketing tools. Talk about grey areas. I don't care what I've done in my life, but if I'm going to the same place as Hitler or various other monsters, then so be it. Both teachings had to do with how to live your present life. Both taught that living your life according to their teachings would bring peace of mind, bliss, etc. If you think just believing in anything will get you a free ticket to paradise, you're missing the point. Heaven or hel_l on earth is it's own reward or punishment for how you live and treat your fellow man. I like Jesus by TKO in the 3rd round.
August 6, 200817 yr budda says that we come back next life according to our behaviour in this life.many lives - many chances to get it right jesus says we go to heaven, hel_l or purgatory depending on what we do this life one life - one chance only so who is right? they cant both be. Sorry if this has been mentioned already as I did not read the whole thread. Actually they both were right & both spoke the same truth. The problem is neither took pen to paper. What we have read is the watered down version of men. Albeit some of them actually walked with Jesus & Gautama. The problem is still that their writing is subject to their interpretation & also their ability to comprehend what they saw/heard. To top that all off it was not written in English to begin with but was translated in things such as the King Henry James version etc. Then to top that off.......... Over the centuries things were edited out. For instance During the council of Constantinople around 550 AD I think?? Things were removed from Jesus teachings. Things like Reincarnation & Karma. If I remember right the reasoning was something like it afforded man to much ability to say Oh well I will do better next time or something like that. Sorry it has been many many years since my Theosophical studies. Makes sense actually when you think about what you read of that period. There actually remains small passages in the bible. But at the end of the day it is up to each to decide right? That is the nice thing about religion Edited August 6, 200817 yr by flying
