I need to call my visa credit card company in the states. I just found out that I can call collect. I had been dialing 009 on my cell and it costs me a couple of hundred baht every time I call...

I carried AT&T international dialing codes with me during my trips to Thailand. You do not need to be an AT&T customer to use them.

The two access numbers from the AT&T site:

1-800-0001-33 or

001-999-111-11

You will get an english recording... for collect calls just hit 0 or wait for a voice operator. Then tell them you want to make a collect call.

Try dialing 100. That should put you through to an English speaking operator who can make a collect call for you.
