Bring Dog Into Thailand Please Help

Featured Replies

Hello I am currently in Malaysia, but and coming to Thailand soon. I am bringing my dog back into Thailand (she is originally from Thailand). I have emailed quarentine numerous times and no response. I am trying to find out everything I need to do. I have read alot of different things so I am looking for what exactly I need for her. Do I need any forms if so does anyone have these forms as I cannot find them? Will she definatly go into quarentine? I know that I need a health certificate issued by a Malaysian vet. Please help me as I am a bit confused. ~Thank You!!~

As far as I know, you would have to take the health certificate to the Department of Agriculture in Malaysia, who will in turn issue a export permit. If she is older than six months then yes she will stay in quarantine for a duration I am not sure of. Good luck!!

HI I UNDERSTAND YOUR PLIGHT I AM IN THE SAME ONE ONLY I WOULD BE TAKING 2 DOGS & A CAT FROM GOA !!! I HAVE HEARD THAT A SHORT QUARANTINE MAY OR MAY NOT BE IMPOSED. APPARANTLY THE OFFICER YOU DEAL WITH UPON ENTRY MAKES THE DECISION. YOU DO NEED FORMS. I CANT GET A RELPY FROM CUSTOMS OR IMMIGRATION EITHER, MOST FRUSTRATING.

A friend of mine imported her three dogs from India last year without a problem or quarantine period (first two and later one).

However, she had all the necessary papers (health certificate, vaccination books, import and export papers) in order.

Sorry to drag this up (and I know I hav another thread on it) but what about the other way. Can we take our Thai dog to Malaysia? She is 13 weeks, about to have her rabies jabs next tuesday.

You can, but there will be a quarantine period of 7 to 30 days.

See the following links:

Minimum age of a dog is 3 months, so no problem for your puppy.

Thanks Nienke, I have been on the agrolink one, but not the top one. 7 days is alot more bearable than 6 months to the UK. We will have all the papers ready for going.
